Top Yoruba actor and movie producer Muyiwa Ademola has revealed the cause of the sudden high death rate in their industry sighting reasons of stress and negligence on the part of the actors.
In very recent weeks and in quick succession, the Yoruba movie industry lost about four prominent actors including Pastor Ajidara, Olumide Bakare and much recently Moji Olaiya.
According to Muyiwa Ademola while the deaths are saddening, it is also the responsibility of actors to pay attention to their health. Negligence is a great threat to the health.
Working around the clock calls for proper care of the body system. Muyiwa says when he works for two weeks, he finds time to take care of himself with proper rest and relaxation.
This is seconding what actress Lepa Shandy told her co actors during Moji Olaita’s artiste night. She said “dear friends please let us take care of ourselves medically and spiritually…Moji is gone but we can take care of ourselves while Alice”
The acting profession might look easy, but it is also a very tasking and demanding job that requires a lot of travelling…hence, there should be time of relaxation to avoid accumulated stress and breakdown.
